William Henry Wolford 1943-2026

HOWLAND – William Henry Wolford, 83, peacefully passed away on Sunday morning, Nov. 1, 2026, at his home, in the loving care of his wife, Arlie, and hospice. The world lost a good man, who was born Feb. 22, 1943, in Braham, Minnesota, a son of Clarence and Nadine Wolford. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Mora High School in Minnesota, and following high school he joined the United States Navy and really did “see the world!” In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially the trips to the Outer Banks, North Carolina, with his buddies. On May 8, 1965, he married the love of his life, whom he said would give him a life, Arlowayne Peterson. They were married 61 years ago in Los Angeles, California, in The Little Brown Church. Not loving LA and working at Fisher Body, they took the opportunity to transfer to the General Motors plant in Lordstown, Ohio, where he worked for 32 years as a supervisor. After his retirement, he worked at GM plants in Texas, Wisconsin, Kansas and Ch
